Use it as a map to your evidence
The common application evidence concerns travel purpose, accommodation, financial means and intended return. See the Commission’s application overview. A letter is useful when it helps a reader connect those documents without guessing.
Keep it specific. “I am a genuine tourist” is a conclusion; dates, accommodation and a funding explanation describe the trip. Do not copy statements about employment, savings or family obligations that are not true for you.
An adaptable structure
The following is an original writing aid, not an official form:
- Identify the destination and purpose of the application.
- State the intended travel dates and countries.
- Summarise where you will stay and your principal activities.
- Explain who pays and point to the relevant evidence.
- Describe your UAE residence and the circumstances relevant to your return.
- Explain any document discrepancy briefly and truthfully.
- End with a list of enclosures and your contact details.
Use your own details rather than submitting a blank template or someone else’s application history.
Explain exceptions, not every transaction
A recent job change, mixed hotel and family accommodation, or a sponsor paying only part of the trip can deserve a short explanation. Reference the supporting document by a recognisable name. Avoid a long narrative that leaves the requested dates unclear.
If your bank statement contains a significant transfer, describe its real origin and attach evidence where relevant. A letter cannot make borrowed or unavailable funds become your personal savings.
Final checks before signing
Compare every date against the application form, leave approval, bookings and insurance. Check that the sponsor’s contribution is described consistently throughout the file.
Do not promise to buy non-refundable tickets merely to make the letter sound stronger. Explain existing reservations accurately. For an employer-issued statement, use the separate NOC guide; do not sign on behalf of your employer.
A simple structure you can adapt
This is an original drafting outline, not an official consular form:
I am [name], a [nationality] passport holder residing in the UAE under [accurate status]. I intend to visit [destination] from [date] to [date] for [real purpose]. My itinerary is [brief factual summary]. [Person/entity] will cover [specified costs]. My current circumstances are [accurate work, study or household situation]. I have included [relevant evidence]. [Explain any genuine issue requiring clarification, without inventing facts.]
Remove any field that does not apply and check the final letter against your documents. Do not assert that a particular savings amount guarantees eligibility or that a consultant can influence the decision.
For detail, use travel reservations, financial sponsorship or self-employed evidence. The letter should explain those records, not replace them.
