Your passport and residence answer different questions
Egypt appears in the visa-required list in Regulation 2018/1806. For an Egyptian resident of the UAE, start with the destination’s UAE procedure, not a Cairo appointment page.
Prepare a short factual summary of where you live, the reason for the journey, the dates and who pays. Use it to choose the correct checklist and booking route.
Check Arabic and Latin-script details
Compare the spelling used in your passport with the spelling on bookings, employment documents and any family records. If there is a genuine difference, explain it with appropriate evidence rather than modifying an original document.
France-Visas’ application process notes that documents in languages other than French or English may require a French translation. That is France’s guidance; check the accepted languages for your destination before paying a translator.
Ask whether an original, copy, translation or legalisation is required for the particular item. Do not order every possible certification just because another applicant did.
Family travel and sponsorship
For a family group, create a separate list for each person. Record who is funding each applicant and whether the residence sponsor is the same person. Check the destination’s instructions for minors, signatures and parental consent.
A spouse’s employment does not mean you should describe yourself as employed if that is not true. Use the actual dependent or self-funded circumstances.
Business and private visits
If the main purpose is a meeting or family visit, select the corresponding evidence route. A hotel booking does not automatically make a journey tourism.
